Ingredients:
Chicken 350gms
Cloves - 2
Cardamom - 1
Cinnamon small piece (quarter inch , add according to taste)
Green chili - 1(optional)
Onion - 1big
Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
Curd - 2tsp(optional)
Red chili powder - 2tsp
Priya chicken masala / Shan masala - 1tsp(add accordingly)
Tomato - 1/2 optional
Oil - 3Tbsp
Kasuri methi- 1/4 tsp(optional)
Mint - 2 leaves(optional)
Lime juice - 1 tsp
Salt - according to taste
Cilantro/coriander - 1/2 cup(finely chopped)
To Marinate:
1.Wash the chicken with water(add some turmeric to remove the unpleasant odor this is optional).
2.In a wide bowl add chicken , 1tsp ginger garlic paste, 1tsp chili powder,lime juice,mint,cilantro 1tsp,salt mix it properly and leave it for 2-3 hrs .
3.As soon as I get chicken from the Indian store I marinate it and store it in the freezer and use when ever required , it tastes good if you marinate it for longer time .
Method:
1.To start off with cut onions very finely.If you like gravy then grind half onion and chop the rest half finely.
2.Cut green chili ,tomato(very fine).
3.Take a wide pan of your choice and heat the oil ,add cinnamon,cloves,cardamom saute it for a min then add green chili , onion cook until the onions are 50% cooked . Add rest of the ginger garlic paste ,turmeric and cook the mixture until it turns golden brown .Keep an eye and make sure the onion does not burn.
4.Add chopped tomatoes this is optional , cook them on medium heat .
5.Add red chili powder,salt,chicken masala , cook it for 2-3 min.
6.Add chicken mix it properly ,cook it on medium flame.after 5 min cover it and cook .
7.Add curd and water if required mix it . Add kasuri methi ,cook it for 15-20 min covered, add cilantro and ready to switch off the heat.
Yummy chicken curry is ready to eat !!!!
Can be served with rice/roti/puri.
Note : I have added more oil by mistake ,was assuming that I had more quantity to cook .Add oil as per your taste.
